What working here looks like
DropCatcher is based in Claremont, Cape Town and supports SA registrants remotely, so our team needs to work well across phone, email and internal systems. The work is steady, detail driven and often time sensitive, especially when a name is due to drop or a client needs a quick transfer handled before close of business.
We are a small team with direct communication, clear responsibilities and a strong focus on getting things done properly. You will often work on requests that involve expiry monitoring, release window tracking, reporting and alerts, so accuracy matters every day.
Roles we commonly hire for
We do not keep a large recruitment roster, but we do look for people who can grow into the following kinds of roles as the business needs change:
- Monitoring and research support for expiring names, brand variants and keyword lists
- Client success and account support for business owners, agencies and domain portfolios
- Operations support for renewals, alerts and internal record keeping
- Technical support for monitoring systems, reporting tools and workflow improvements
- Recovery and acquisition support for complex backorder and transfer requests
Who tends to fit in well
Good candidates usually have strong admin habits, a calm approach to deadlines and the confidence to explain technical steps in plain language. If you have worked in online services, telecommunications, finance, legal admin or any role where timing and documentation matter, that experience can transfer well here.
We work with businesses in Cape Town, Bellville, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Somerset West, plus clients further afield, so clear written communication is important. A person who can spot an unusual renewal date or a missing detail before it becomes a problem is valuable to us.
What you can expect from the team
Our team structure is straightforward. Marius van der Merwe leads the business, with Ayanda Mkhize handling operations, Liam Petersen overseeing monitoring work, Zanele Ndlovu supporting clients, Jason Naidoo managing technical systems and Chantel Botha coordinating recovery tasks. Everyone has a defined part to play, and we expect practical teamwork rather than unnecessary meetings.
- Direct feedback and clear handovers
- Training on our processes and reporting standards
- Work that follows South African business hours and client needs
- Room to specialise in monitoring, support or technical work
How to send your CV
If you would like to be considered for future openings, email your CV to domains@dropcatcher.co.za with a short note about the kind of work you are looking for and where you are based. Please include your contact details, relevant experience and any systems you have used before. A brief covering note is helpful, but not a long essay.
We review CVs as roles open up and keep promising applications on file for later discussion. If your background matches what we need, we will contact you directly to arrange the next step.
Why people join us
Many applicants are drawn to the mix of online work, client contact and time sensitive administration. This is a useful place to build experience if you enjoy structured tasks and want to work in a business that serves real companies across South Africa.
It also suits people who prefer meaningful work over noise. When a client secures the right domain after careful monitoring, the result is clear and measurable, and that kind of outcome makes the work worthwhile.
